But what about the AGW proponents who now claim that this is merely indicative of the fact that those years where the temps leveled off where on the tail of some really HOT years? In other words, they're claiming two things in one here: 1) Warming is not linear. There are blips and hiccups in the progression, as with many other natural phenomena. 2) We don't see any cooling. Just a temporarily level plateau at the moment that is still giving us warmer years overall than, say, anything in the early 1900s. OK.
