I understand the difference between weather and climate but like to point out record cold snowstorms because the opposite is often used to motivate the agenda of global warming enthusiasts. You see, a hurricane or heat wave are apparently evidence of global warming but record cold and snow are meaningless aberrations.
One of the consequences of our recent snowstorm in Washing DC was the delay of a press release announcing the impact of global warming:
NOAA, part of the Department of Commerce, is going to be providing information to individuals and decision-makers through a new NOAA Climate Service office. “More and more, Americans are witnessing the impacts of climate change in their own backyards, including sea-level rise, longer growing seasons, changes in river flows, increases in heavy downpours, earlier snowmelt and extended ice-free seasons in our waters. People are searching for relevant and timely information about these changes to inform decision-making about virtually all aspects of their lives,” the release says.
Interesting … I thought we were witnessing unseasonably harsh Winters witnessed in our own backyard?

If Americans are witnessing the impacts in their own backyards, why do we need yet another government bureacracy to inform us about what we have already witnessed? Isn’t witnessing the event for ourselves the most “relevant and timely information” possible?
To wit, DC area residents must have quickly concluded this past weekend that holding out for a snowstorm delayed press release from the NOAA Climate Service DC office would have been neither as relevant or timeely as simply looking through the kitchen window at the snow drifting through their own backyard.
Right – a government site based on NOAA. NOAA cooks the numbers more than the CRU. Their station cherry-picking among other unscientific data manipulation is legion.
Their statement above is shopping list of their propaganda campaign. They pretend everybody is out there suffering when the only people suffering are those at NOAA who are busy destroying their personal and professional integrity.
This goes to show how desperate Obama is to push cap and trade – he already has income from it built into his new budget. He sees it as a new, large income stream – from the people to his budget, no stops.
If Obama pushes cap & trade, he will indeed be a one term president.
NOAA is no longer concerned with scientific based evidence. It has become a political propaganda organization. Unproven hypotheses should not be used to drive policy. Man made GW and man made CC are hoaxes.

Yes the climate is changing–it is in constant flux just ask the dinosaurs, mamoths, and trilobites. If you actually look at the data and really analize it honestly you will see that the heat goes up then the CO2 level rise not the other way around. This has been the greatest waste of money in the history of man.
